About Birth and Parenting Educators

Birth & Parenting Educators is a Lamaze Approved Provider offering a variety of classes for pregnant and parenting families. We celebrate our 18th anniversary this year providing evidence-based childbirth and parenting information.

Why take our classes?

  • You will get personalized information in a small group ~ six mothers and their support people or fewer in a class
  • You will learn by doing. Our classes are 1/2 information and 1/2 hands-on practice.
  • We cover non-medical and medical aspects of birth and parenting. We start with normal birth and explore the emotional and physical aspects and assist you in knowing your options for how you want to give birth.
  • You will become familiar with the hospital setting. One class is an in-hospital labor rehearsal where you will practice labor contractions and find positions and birth options that work well for you.
  • Classes are held at comfortable locations and times for you.

Classes are available on week nights and weekends in Barbara Hotelling’s Rochester Hills home or Kristin Lacy’s Farmington Hills home.

    We offer:

Basic Series 6 weeks for the first-timer $110
Refresher Series 3 weeks for the returning parents $70
Vaginal Birth After Cesarean 5 weeks $80

Scholarships and payment plans are available. No woman should go without birth classes for lack of funds.

Contact Barbara Hotelling at 248.931.9189 or www.barbarahotelling.com if you would like more information.
